If you are interested in activating Anti-Virus & Anti-SPAM features on your domain you MUST Accept the Agreement below.

 

  1. The Gateway software scans incoming email only. Outgoing mail is not monitored.
  2. Incoming email is only scanned if it comes from a domain outside of the SubStorm network. If you send email from user1@yourdomain.com to user2@yourdomain.com it will not be scanned.
  3. SubStorm, Inc. makes no guarantee that the Gateway software will catch all SPAM or Viruses.
    It is provided as an additional service to help reduce the amount of SPAM and Viruses circulating the Internet.
  4. Users can no longer send you file attachments over 50 MB in size
  5. You can no longer receive attachments with the following extensions:
    Attachments sent with the below extensions will be stripped from the email prior to delivery (Ask users to zip the files up before sending them to you if it's in one of the extensions below)

  6. Heuristic Spam detection is enabled, so anything resembling SPAM will be marked and dropped.
    (Note: this doesn't catch 100% of the SPAM, but test have shown it to work pretty good)
  7. Email received from any user on the DNS Black List http://dsbl.org will be rejected. (No exceptions)
    SPAM messages received from users on the DNS Black List will be permanently deleted.
    You will never receive the message like you do with the Heuristic Engine..
  8. Encrypted or password protected file attachments will be stripped and removed from the incoming email.
  9. Incoming email will be delayed until the Gateway has time to scan it thoroughly for viruses.
    So if a large attachment or message is incoming, be prepared for a 20 second to 2 minute wait before you'll receive it in your mailbox. I don't expect messages to be delayed longer than 2 minutes. (that's the approximate scan time for a 50 MB attachment)
  10. Virus definitions are updated based on the 4-hour release chart from Symantec.
    New scan definitions are retrieved as soon as Symantec releases them.

We will activate the Gateway services immediately upon request. The remainder of the current month will be free of charge. If you would like to discontinue use of the Gateway software, please contact a SubStorm, Inc. representative and your domains will be removed from the Gateway.

At the next billing cycle, your Monthly Hosting Invoices will reflect a $5.00 charge per non-shared domain for use of the Gateway software. This fee helps cover extra hardware and network useage costs incurred by use of the Gateway Software..
